Leadership Transition at Harro Höfliger (Switzerland) AG

Roberto Zürcher has been closely associated with Harro Höfliger’s activities in Switzerland for more than two decades and played a pivotal role in building and developing the company’s local presence. In January 2005, a sales and service organization founded jointly by Harro Höfliger and Uhlmann Pac-Systeme began operations near Basel. What started as a small team evolved into a well-established organization with strong ties to Switzerland’s pharmaceutical and medical technology industries.

When Harro Höfliger launched its own Swiss subsidiary in September 2023, Zürcher assumed responsibility as managing Director. Together with his team, he successfully continued the company’s sales and service activities.

"I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to develop markets, build sales organizations, and bring successful projects to life," says Roberto Zürcher. "Most of all, it has been the people I have met along the way, from different cultures and professional backgrounds, who have broadened my perspective and inspired me throughout my career. Those experiences will stay with me as I begin this new chapter."

His successor, Mario Mester, is equally familiar with both the company and the industry. Since January 2026, Zürcher and Mester have worked closely together to prepare the transition and gradually transfer responsibilities.

Looking ahead, Mario Mester says: "Harro Höfliger and I have shared a long journey. I am therefore particularly pleased to be part of this journey again in a new capacity. I know the passion and technical expertise that define this company. Together with our team, I want to make these strengths even more tangible for our customers in Switzerland by remaining close to their needs, providing personal support, and delivering solutions tailored to their specific processes."
